Local Government That Works With You

Government transparency is key to earning and maintaining public trust

If the public doesn’t know what’s going on, it’s not public service.

In a county as fast-growing and diverse as Kendall, our local government needs to reflect more than just quiet decision-making behind the scenes. It should reflect you. Your voice, your concerns, and your right to know how and why decisions are being made.

Transparency and accountability aren’t buzzwords. They’re the foundation of trust.

More Than Just Public, Accessible

We’ve made some progress when it comes to open meetings and public records, but there’s still a gap between what’s “technically available” and what’s genuinely accessible.

As your representative, I’ll advocate for:

  • Live streaming all board meetings, so residents can follow discussions in real time, whether they’re at home, at work, or anywhere in between
  • Archiving past meeting videos and documents in a searchable, user-friendly format
  • Allowing digital public comment, including through remote live participation or pre-submitted statements so residents can be heard even if they can’t attend in person

Local government should meet people where they are because not everyone can attend meetings at 9:00 AM on a Tuesday.

Closing the Loop on Community Input

It’s not enough to just allow public comment. We need to actually listen to it, and more importantly, let people know when and how their input made an impact.

That means:

  • Highlighting when public input helps shape a decision
  • Clearly explaining when the board moves in a different direction, and why
  • Making it easy for residents to see what’s on the agenda before a vote happens and not burying it in consent agendas.

We build trust by being honest, clear, and accountable when decisions are made.

Let’s Raise the Bar

You shouldn’t need a law degree, political connections, or three hours of free time to know what’s happening in your own county.

Let’s make public engagement easier, not harder. Let’s treat residents like partners, not spectators, and let’s raise the bar for what real accountability looks like in Kendall County.

Because good government is ensuring our doors are open and accessible.
